Has Helen (Pluckrose) been involved much recently or has she been keeping herself to herself? She is my favourite of the grievance studies team and always has intelligent and inspiring insight.
She hid away from the spotlight for a while but appears to be poking her head out of hiding again. You'll see a few things pop up from her soon, I think.
As the old saying goes (I'm WELL into Geezerhood so old saying are all I know...or care about :-) ) "If you're taking flak, you must be over the target."
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
Winston Churchill
Last weekend there were 2 large protests against Woke/Progressive Ideology being taught in schools. One In Glendale Ca. the other in Baltimore Md. The Glendale protest was by Armenian parents and the Baltimore protest was by Muslim parents. Two groups of people on opposite sides of the country, who (I assume) disagree on a number of topics, but on THIS (what is being taught to their kids) shoulder to shoulder.
WE (that would be the Awake...Sane People) who live in The Real Wold Will win.
BTW Ever notice those pushing the Woke/Progressive Ideology Never publicly debate those who disagree? One might almost suspect even They know this is nonsense. But then I'm a (EVIL) Right Wing Christian Heterosexual, who maintains 2+2=4. So What Do I Know.
It is part of the discourse engineering ideology to not "platform" the opposition. It's read only and explicitly theorised in these identitarian fields. I might write something more in depth about this.
"I share Kaufman's liberalism but not his conservative nationalism and Harrington's anti-capitalism but not her illiberalism, so it would be very interesting to see the ideas of two such different thinkers juxtaposed. Team Freedom vs Team Constraint."
OMG! People disagreeing and Talking TO each other! I don't know, this strikes me as a pretty radical subversive concept. Who knows where something like that might lead.
(time to play Spot The Sarcasm. Fun For The Whole Family)
Only you, Helen, could craft an off-the-cuff comment that exceeds most full-length posts in both length and depth. :) You and Mike should consider a collaboration that can be shared on your respective Substacks. Let me know if I can assist in setting this up.
I had "fiery" in the draft but ditched it before I hit publish for some reason. The following sentences about her negate the critique though, yeah? Don't go full "studies" on me :).
Criticism taken. Agreed, these comments are great, I'm enjoying interacting with people who are invested in the work. You all seem to be paying close attention and even when people don't like something the critiques are well considered. None of the petulance or entitlement of YouTube and Twitter here.

Excellent, she has a wonderful mind and holds the middle ground very well

Haha! You keep doing that. Hope you are getting on well 🙂
Super interesting. Good as ‘The Reformers’ is, the next film is shaping up to be on another level.

And John Cleese?! I have never felt more FOMO than this moment.
Get down to Unherd HQ for an event if you're ever in London. It's something special.

I think I just Hurt Myself!
Great, isn't it?
This was such an incredible evening!
Is it possible to watch the entire film online?
Sadly, there seems to be very little of that up here in Manchester :(
It's rough in Aus.
It's quicksand in San Francisco.
Haha. I bet.
