Those of you familiar with my work will recall my involvement in The Grievance Studies Affair. For my newly found subscribers, the Grievance Studies Affair was an elaborate academic hoax that took aim at identity studies departments to expose the seminary-like qualities that lay beneath their social science veneer. I stumbled into the project during its early conception, became close with the protagonists, and documented the strange journey to completion and beyond.
This is the way to kill CRT/DEI -covertly absurd it to death. Bravo! Like our most illustrious of the Cynic philosophers, Diogenes of Sinope who had a talent for undercutting ridiculous social and religious conventions and subverting political power. I just became a paid subscriber and happy to do so.
Haha I like this reference a lot. I thought often about Diogenes's large ceramic jar when curling up on a couch for the night while shooting this. Thanks for the sub, very much appreciated.
awesome. I can't wait to watch the first episode. I just came across your work on Twitter so I'm excited to see you covered the Grievance Studies Affair
would you consider putting it on odysee? i'd be happyy to pay to view there. I find the substack site awful to navigate etc and stay away form it, but i'd like to view the docu
I'm getting a lot of these requests so I'll look at a solution at some point. Right now the Substack approach is a purposeful attempt to create an independent model that can work for the kind of filmmaking I do. I just want to provide maximum value for those motivated to come along for the ride right now. Hope you understand.
"Part one will be free to the public on Substack and my YouTube channel. "
To quote that Great Philosopher Hobbs (of Calvin & Hobbs fame) "Will there be snacks?"
I for one will be very happy to put my hand in my pocket to help get this out into the world. ๐คจ๐
Legend, Gerard. Thank you.
I'm excited to see it!
I've been wanting to see this forever. Instant sub.
Thanks, mate. Apologies for the delay. Pandemic + the doc business being absurd. Trying to find a new way to work and the sub helps a lot.
Can't wait!
Thank YOU!
Not sure why I failed to comment after reading/watching, but I LOVED this. It was clever, thoughtful & hilarious.
Thanks, Marilyn.
